Barbara Katherine Reed

Barbara Katherine Romano Reed died peacefully in her home in Littleton, Colorado, on March 20, 2017 at the age of 75.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Tony and Virginia Romano, her brother Charles and sister Julia. She is survived by her loving brother Anthony Romano; her daughter Laura Jean Black, son-in-law Mark and their children Kellan, Kyle and Sarah; son James Morris Reed, daughter-in-law Katie and their children Emily, Hannah, Charles and Abigail; son Keith Warrick Reed, daughter in-law Rachelle, and their children Joshua and Jacob; as well as her three great grandchildren, Kolby, Levi and Hayden.

Barbara was born in Denver, Colorado to Tony and Virginia Romano. She graduated from Colorado Women's College in 1961 with a degree in Retail Merchandising. She was married to James Reed for 39 years until their divorce in 2001. She thoroughly enjoyed her position as a clothing buyer for Neusteters in the early years of her marriage until she started her family and put her career on hold to raise their children.

Barbara enjoyed riding her bike, playing the piano and being with family for Sunday dinners. She began her struggle with Multiple Sclerosis when she turned 28 years old. Although, she became wheelchair bound her outlook on life always remained positive. She was a Godly woman with tremendous strength and faith. She served the Lord daily and never let her disease defeat her.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. (with viewing and visitation an hour prior 12:00 - 1:00) on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Word of Life Christian Center - 8700 Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree CO 80124 - where she was a member for 26 years. 

It was Barbara's request that in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to Expect Hope Worldwide, an organization that brings hope to orphan children in several countries worldwide, through food, clothing, housing, medicine, education and empowerment.
