Welcome to the memorial page for

Carol Elaine Samborsky

September 24, 1933 ~ June 13, 2015 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Carol Elaine Samborsky, 81 of Littleton, died on June 13, 2015 at Littleton Adventist Hospital.  Carol was born to Carl and Olga Rasmusen on September 24, 1933 in Starbuck, Minnesota.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Howard Rasmusen, son: Jeff Samborsky, first great grandchild Colton Lambert and most recently her husband Pete Samborsky.  Carol is survived by her sister : Elenora Bryant, brother: Ed Rasmusen, both of Minnesota, daughters: Cindy (Pat) Bloom, Cathy (Tom) Mager, son: Greg (Susana) Samborsky, and daughter-in-law Carol M. Samborsky (widowed), grandchildren: Leah (Jon) Birmingham, Genesa (Ezra) Lambert, Alexis (Manny) Solano, Shane Samborsky and Alex Mager, great-grandchildren: Levi, Dalton, Jael, Shilo, Josie, Nijel, Najji, Tania, Livia (one more on the way), Chase and Colin. There are also many neices, nephews and extended family.

After graduation from Starbuck High School, Carol met and married Pete Samborsky on December 15, 1951 in Minnesota.  They moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1957 when Pete went to work at Rocky Flats.  Carol did live in many other states and cities, the most recent being Littleton, Colorado.  Wherever she resided, she always made new and dear friends.

Through the years, Carol had varied jobs.  Her last place of employment before retiring in April of 1999 was Chase Bank (Bank One) in Boulder, Colorado. Carol loved to travel (all over the U.S., Scandinavia, Russia, Ukraine and most of Europe.) The grandchildren have fond memories of travel to visit sites and family.  They also remember their visits to Grandmas home for parties, hiking, singing, stories and lullibies.  She informed her children and grandchildren of their Norwegian heritage and culture.  Even through her illness (losing most of her speech), she would pop up unexpectedly with an "Uffda"!

Carol loved books, poetry, and music.  She was skilled at writing poems and short stories.  It was devastating to her to lose reading, writing, and speech during the last two years of illness along with independence.  A quiet, reserved woman, she followed closely even the laws of the land.  For those who knew her, even driving a car was done so slowly and carefully to avoid accidents and tickets!  She was kind and hospitable to friends, family and strangers.

Many of Carol's deepest spiritual questions were answered for her when she began to study the Bible with Jehovahs' Witnesses in the early 1950's. She was then baptized.  Carol will be greatly missed, until we see her again!

Memorial Services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses on Saturday July 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM located at 5885 Jay Road, Boulder, Co, 80301
