Catherine is preceded in death by her first husband Donald Joseph La Brake Sr. and her second oldest son Patrick Mark. She is survived by her current husband, Bill Perry, and twelve of her thirteen children: Donald Joseph Jr., Michael Patrick, Timothy Jude, Colleen Marie, Kateri Bernadette, Shannon Eileen, Guadalupe Julianna, Sean Anthony, Dominic Paul, Luke Mathew, Marcelino Francis, and Noel Chabenel. She is also survived by two brothers: Jack and Mark Murphy III.
Catherine entered the medical profession as a Registered Nurse and shortly after married Donald La Brake Sr.; thus beginning her primary role as a homemaker. Catherine continued her nursing profession, focusing primarily on caring for the elderly. Besides her career in nursing, Catherine also developed a strong interest in nutrition and eventually became a Shaklee Distributor with her husband Donald. In addition, Catherine and Donald also ran a religious bookstore, supporting local parishes. Catherine also developed a strong interest in dairy goat farming and encouraged her children to participate in this hobby as well.
Perhaps the greatest and most loved of all Catherine’s interests was that of dancing which was fostered by her parents during early childhood. Throughout Catherine’s life, dance and performing was always a constant love – one which she shared with her recent husband, Bill, who plays the accordion. Throughout her life, Catherine ensured that a performance was put on for the elderly that she cared for and participated in many dance showcases throughout the country.
Although Catherine is no longer with us, we know that the show must go on and life will continue; let us pray that someday we’ll all dance together again.
