Throughout my life, I always remember Doris as being one of the most beautiful and elegant woman I have been blessed to know. Her smile would light up the room. Doris always greeted me with a hug. Doris and Wilber always welcomed me to swim in their pool. Doris hosted my wedding shower and it was such fun. I send prayers and blessings out to Wilber and all of the family during this difficult time.Doris will be greatly missed. Very Warmly, Robin Docter

Doris and I have had a friendship of over 60 some years, and many good times together. She was a gentle, kind and thoughtful person. I am lucky to have had her as my friend. Doris loved her family and talked of them often. We will all miss her beautiful smile. My heart goes out to Wilber, Cindy, Steven and family. Very Warmly, Betty Egnew

My John knew Will growing up in Englewood, a wonderful family. When John ran for Arapahoe County Commissioner, Doris and Will were wonderful supporters all those many years starting in 1964. In the 1988 election Doris opened her home and set up a phone bank for volunteers to come in and make calls to voters for the primary election. Through all their help John won the election easily and we were so grateful for their generosity. Will and Doris were also involved with First Federal Savings and Loan Bank, as was John. We would sit together at special events and the annual First Federal Christmas Party, which was a great treat for us and we could catch up on news. As we know Doris loved collecting beautiful things and it really was like an art form. She found a piece of sheet music with a beautiful face of a flapper from the 1920's, and then found another one of a different color, but the same face. Doris asked John if he would draw a third one in pencil and he was very pleased that Doris asked him. She framed the three together. Doris was special and a very lovely lady and will be remembered by many. I'm so sorry for Will and the family for their loss and with sympathy I write this note. Respectfully, Ida May Nicholl
