Welcome to the memorial page for

Edward John Muhr

March 3, 1939 ~ July 1, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Edward John Muhr passed away on July 1, 2017.  A memorial service will be held July 11, 2017 at 11 AM at Drinkwine Mortuary, 999 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton, Colorado with a reception to follow at Raccoon Creek Golf Course in the tent.

Ed was born March 3, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Marie Muhr.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ed graduated from Adams City High School in 1957, from CU Boulder 1961 with a Business Degree, and from DU law school December 1963.  He was admitted to the Colorado State Bar in 1964 and to the California State Bar in 1966.  During this time, he also fulfilled his military service in the Air National Guard.

Ed and Ruth met in Wheat Ridge, Colorado in 1966 and were married in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 20, 1967.  They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with their family.

Ed is survived by his four sons: John (Cheryl), Mike (Susan), Jeff (Wenfang) and Chris (Julie), and seven grandchildren Rachel, Amanda, Bryan, Jeremy, Sarah, Tyler, Amy Muhr, and a host of friends.

After serving as a deputy DA in Adams county, and work with Legal Aid, Ed practiced law as a sole practitioner until 1996.

Together with his wife, Ruth, he built the family real estate business, which is now managed by Tangent Corporation. The business entities are currently owned and managed by their four sons.

Ed had many interests, among them were: travel, boxing, boogie woogie music, football, vibrant discussions and “trains, planes and automobiles.” He had once flown himself, and relived that experience again when Jeff got his pilot’s license.  He and all four sons and a daughter-in-law made it to the Superbowl in 2016, completing 18 years of trips he and and Chris made to visit all the NFL stadiums.  That stadium was the last one on their list for the culmination of that journey.

The family wishes to express gratitude and love to all of Ed’s friends, classmates and neighbors who have enjoyed his rare wit and humor over the years.

Memorial donations may be made to Haven Ministries, Healing Warriors Program (not to be confused with Wounded Warriors), LifeSpark cancer resources, or the charity of your choice.
