G. Derek Woolfall
April 15, 1936 – March 25, 2017
Derek was born in West Kirby, England, and spent his childhood in Nairobi, Kenya. At the age of 18, he returned to England to attend King’s College for his Bachelor of Science degree, after which he came to the U.S. and earned a Master’s Degree in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
In 1961, Derek worked as an engineer in San Francisco, where he met his wife, Christina. The next year, he was drafted into the Army for two years.
Derek is survived by his wife of 52 years. He is also survived by sons David (wife Suzanne, and their twin daughters Claire and Lisa) and Brian (wife Joanne, daughter Cristina and grandkids Sophia and Vincenzo), as well as his sister-in-law Mary and numerous nephews and nieces still residing in England.
Derek and Christina have lived in Littleton for over 42 years. He worked for RTD for nearly 30 years before retiring, 10 years ago. Derek loved reading, gardening, traveling and photography, and was thankful for his family, his home, and the wonderful neighbors that surrounded him. He will be greatly missed.
