We first met Gene(Ira) in El Paso in 1967 when the joined Mt View Baptist Church after having moved here from Las Cruces, NM. It was the beginning of a long friendship with people that were easy to make friends with as we shared many common interests. Camping, working at the church, having parties, working to improve our homes to make them easier to work and live in.
Dot and Gene were close enough to do many things together and 1n 1998 we traveled in out own motorhomes to Alaska and back, and still remaining friends. Also Dot was involved in a teacher exchange program that took them to Adelaide Australia for a full year. They exchanged everything, homes, jobs, church, with another teacher that came and lived in their house. We were able to join them there and have many adventures. Gene was a very special man that loved what he did along with loving his family, you will be missed Gene but we will always remember you, when we meet on the shore, in Heaven.
