James Cruze Obituary

James "Jimmy" Cruze          1/8/1933    -    6/10/2018

James (Jimmy) Cruze was born January 8, 1933 to Dan and Helen Cruze in Nacogdoches, Texas. Jimmy was the youngest of eight children raised on a small farm. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School and moved to Ft. Worth where two of his brothers lived. In 1951 he joined the Navy and after discharge he returned to Fort Worth to enroll in college. There he met Doris Harriss and they were married in May 1956. Jimmy graduated from Texas Christian University and found employment with Retail Credit Company, later re-named Equifax. He was an insurance claims investigtor until 1975 when he was promoted to Claims Manager of the Denver, Colorado office.

The family, now including Jimmy, Doris, Adrienne (13), Russ (11), Bryan (9), two dogs and one cat settled in Littleton. Jimmy retired from Equifax after 35 years of service. He drove the shuttle for Courtesy Acura for 12 years before retiring again.

Jimmy loved travel whether it was camping trips with the family or visiting Canada, Alaska and most of western Europe with Doris. His love of sports included trips to many baseball parks all over the U.S. with Russ and Bryan. His favorite parks were Wrigley Field in Chicago and Coors Field in Denver. He and Doris were married 62 years before his passing on June 10, 2018. He leaves behind Adrienne of Geneva, Switzerland; Russ (Robin) of Aurora, CO and Bryan (Regan) of Ft. Worth, TX; plus 3 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Paul Harriss of Warren, Michigan and sister-in-law Edith Gilbreath of Vermillion, Ohio.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Highline Place Memory Care Center for the loving care they gave Jimmy during his illness.
