James Taylor, 96, of Englewood, passed away January 17, 2017 with family by his side. He was born in the fall of 1920 in Bloom Township near Bowling Green, OH, and moved to Colorado in 1950.
During World War II, Jim proudly served his country as a Marine and was awarded the Bronze Star for exhibiting extraordinary courage and valor while under enemy fire.

He loved fishing, playing horseshoes, playing cribbage with Arlene, and growing zucchinis and tomatoes, as well. He was an avid word puzzle solver, a jigsaw puzzle aficionado, and a card and board game player. He instilled a love of playing games in his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at All Souls Church in Englewood. A private burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later time. Honorary pall bearers include Greg Taylor, Ben Taylor, Mark Lane, Jared Lane, Lynn Miller and nephew Douglas Kiefer.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in Jim’s honor to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (www.vfw.org or VFW National Headquarters 406 W. 34th St. Kansas City, MO 64111) or a charity of your choosing.
