Jana Lee Hofinga

Jana Lee Hofinga (née Irvine), 78, of Buena Vista, CO, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 16, 2012. Jana was born in Edwards, Missouri, on February 21, 1934, to Richard H. and Hazel V. (Atkinson) Irvine. She spent her childhood between Timbo, Arkansas, and Laramie, Wyoming, where she graduated from high school in 1951. Jana was married to Carl H. Hofinga on August 20, 1960; they were married 52 years. To this union were born two sons, Mark and Phillip. Jana worked as a bookkeeper in banking and veterinary services and also provided child care services. Her primary focus was as a homemaker while raising her children. She enjoyed working in the church library; gardening, reading Christian fiction books, and traveling in a RV. She loved children and delighted in her three grandsons. Jana is survived by her husband Carl, son Phillip Hofinga and his wife Katherine (of Gillette, Wyoming) and three grandsons - Justin, Adam, and Titus; by her brother Nathan Irvine, of Mountain View, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by son Mark, and brothers R D and Victor Irvine. A funeral service will be at 10 AM on December 22, 2012, at Drinkwine Familly Mortuary, 999 W Littleton Blvd, Littleton, CO. Burial will follow the funeral at Littleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Mission Aviation Fellowship, P O Box 47, Nampa, ID 83653-0047.
