Jimmy Max Cobb, age 78, died peacefully in his home with his loving family at his side in Littleton, Colorado on Monday, October 9, 2017.  He is survived by his devoted wife Gloria Zwang Cobb, older daughter Cathey Massey, and her husband Paul Massey.  He is also survived by his younger daughter, Carol Cobb and her son Gavin Goble, Gavin’s father Greg Goble and Gavin’s step-father, Stuart Born and his children Ella and Zander Born.  Other members of Jimmy’s family who have survived him include his late brother Gary Cobb’s family.

Jimmy was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on November 22, 1938 to Geraldine and Horace Dixon Cobb.  Jimmy graduated from Amarillo High School and was a stand-out football player in Amarillo, Texas.  After graduating he was recruited by several universities.  Jimmy had a full ride football scholarship and graduated with a degree in business from Denver University.  He enlisted in the Marines after graduating from DU and went straight into the reserves.

In 1963, he married Gloria Zwang and began his career as a salesman with the Quaker Oats Company in Amarillo, Texas.  Later, he went on to work for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Cooper Laboratories, and then started his own business, Specialty Dental Products.  They raised their two daughters Cathey and Carol in Littleton, where they both graduated from Heritage High School.

Jimmy was an avid golfer as well as a dedicated volunteer for the Life Care Center.  He served as a deacon for his church Arapahoe Road Baptist Church.  Another passion that enriched Jimmy’s life was being a part of the mission program where he traveled internationally to share the Lords message.  He was a dedicated Sunday school director, a Gideon and an usher for his church.

In May of 2017, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloma Luekemia and fought a courageous battle to the very end.  Despite all his hardships with his health, his family and friends loved him dearly and he always made everyone feel special.
