Joanne Davis Mahnken

Joanne Davis Mahnken of Centennial, Colorado passed away on February 5, 2017 at the age of 89.  She was born July 11, 1927 in New Jersey and married Walter Mahnken in 1948.  They lived in New York for a number of years, and then relocated to Colorado in 1959.  They had four children.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Walter and son Robert. She is survived by her brother Robert Davis of New Jersey, her children William Mahnken, Catherine Major, and Karen Mahnken, her daughter-in-law Cynthia Mahnken, as well as many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was very important to her, and she loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Joanne had a very big heart.  She was a volunteer at Porter Hospice for 10 years.  She also took care of her mother for many years.  She had a beautiful singing voice, was an accomplished artist, and enjoyed needlework and reading.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 9 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 6400 S. University Boulevard, Centennial, Colorado, with a reception at the church after the service. Flowers may be sent to Drinkwine Mortuary, 999 W Littleton Blvd., Littleton, CO or to the church.
