John H. Larsen of Littleton, CO., passed away on January 21, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Harry Larsen and his beloved brother, Richard D. Larsen. He was born in Anoka, MN., on August 21, 1937. He was orphaned at a young age and raised by loving relatives in Cresco, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business. This is where he met his future wife, Anita (Ellis) Larsen.
He is survived by his wife and three children, Jeffrey Mark Larsen, Julia Louise Larsen and Jill Ellis (Larsen) McMahon, and six grandchildren, Derek Larsen, Dane Larsen, Danielle Larsen, Drew Larsen, Benjamin McMahon and Abigail McMahon.
John served in the Army and then entered the insurance industry in the 1960's. He then became owner of Day-Larsen Insurance in 1977. He retired in 2007.
John had many interests and passions. He loved to travel, he loved to work, anything to do with airplanes, hosting the Day-Larsen Open Golf Tournament in Phoenix, AZ. for 20 years, volunteering at St. Mary's Catholic Church, his Chicago family, his winter home in Fountain Hills, AZ., he was a member of Columbine Country Club and most important his family and friends.
John was a good man, and will be missed dearly by his family.
