Mary Lou Moore

Mary Louise Moore of Centennial, Colorado died peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the age of 92. Mary Lou was born April 3,1925 in Chicago, Illinois - the youngest of six siblings to Leo and Jessie Keene. After graduating from Holy Family High School in Denver, Mary Lou attended Loretto Heights College. On June 28,1945 she married Robert William Moore in Pueblo,CO. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Bob and Mary Lou raised nine children - Michael, Cuchara CO; Marilyn, Centennial CO; Richard, Ft. Myers, FL; James, Pueblo, CO; Janet Tate, Hendersonville, TN; Kathy Smith, Littleton, CO; Jeanne Brockway, Ft. Collins, CO; Barbara Thurston, Centennial CO; and John Moore, San Antonio, TX. Mary Lou has 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren so far. 

Mary Lou devoted her life to raising her family and then worked for several years as an office manager at Langfur Construction Company before retiring to travel with Bob. They visited all 50 states and Puerto Rico as well as 13 European countries. Mary Lou loved to travel. She also loved walking, hiking, gardening and playing cards. They made a lifetime of friends through their affiliations with Cure d'Ars, St. Mary's and St. Thomas More Catholic parishes as well as Loretto Heights and Regis colleges.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, 12:30 p.m at St. Tomas More Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or Catholic Charities in Mary Lou's memory.
