Merilyn Lee Handley

Merilyn L (Rademacher) Handley passed away on February 28, 2017.  Merilyn was a loving wife, mother and most importantly, a doting Grammy.  Born July 2, 1943, she was raised in the Denver area and graduated from Englewood High School where she met and married John. She was a fourth generation Colorado native and proud of it. Her love for the outdoors extended from hiking and skiing in Colorado to wolf watching in Minnesota and exploring in Alaska. She loved to travel, especially to New Mexico with her crazy friends, Peggy and Joan. There she fell in love with the landscape, art and history. Merilyn’s career was in politics and government. She ran many county, state and presidential campaigns with the highlight of her career as Deputy Secretary of State for Colorado. An office she held for 12 years.  But her most important thing in life was family. In Littleton, she was known as a “neighborhood” mom raising two children, Tori and Derek and four grandchildren, Bailey, Thatcher, Spencer and  Heather Bay along with many of their friends.  At her request, no services will be held.
