Welcome to the memorial page for

Reinhold Zimbelman

July 13, 1925 ~ August 29, 2015 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Reiny Zimbelman - son of Gottlieb and Louise Zimbelman was born July 13, 1925 in Carson, North Dakota. He along with his siblings and one cousin Ella, Leah, Viola, Ruth, Edwin, Arnie, Rueben, and Amil all grew up in a small farming community. He graduated High School and was called to Duty to serve in The Pacific Theater. While serving he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. After completing his 2 ½ years of service he came home to operate the family farm in Carson. While attending a church function in Gailsburg, North Dakota he met his wife to be Holly Paulson. The children of their union are Eileen (Myron), Larry (Ellen), Dennis (Sue), and Vicki (Arleigh). Amongst the four children he has 12 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. His first grandson gave him the name Bapa, a name that stayed with him for the rest of his life. Due to health reasons Reiny and Holly moved to Sacramento, California. He went to work for Aero Jet General where he worked in the aerospace industry. While he worked at Aero Jet General he worked on many interesting and vitally important projects including all the manned space missions. In his spare time he built a house in Rapid City, South Dakota. He bought and operated a ranch in Alamosa, Colorado. After the sale of the ranch in Alamosa with too many dreams and projects to mention, he embarked on a journey into the business world where he had many numerous friends and countless acquaintances. Let’s just say he never met a person he didn’t like or a person who didn’t like him. He had many occupations which included college professor, electrical engineer, master electrician, and General Contractor.  On January 17, 1990 the family lost Holly to cancer. He remarried again and moved to Oregon with his new wife Harriet VanHouton. With this union he acquired four stepchildren. While living in Oregon Reiny developed a love of mining and prospecting that he pursued for the remainder of his life. In 2004 Reiny lost his second wife Harriet to cancer. After settling his affairs in Oregon he then moved to Littleton, Co where he resided with his daughter Vicki and her husband Arleigh and their family till his passing. During his time at their house he continued his pursuit of mining and prospecting and also enjoying the many recreational opportunities such as four wheeling, fishing, taking family vacations, and family cruises. Some of the many enjoyments and pursuits include movies, Wednesday pie days at Village Inn, dates with Hildegarde, watching his western shows, mowing the endless lawn, taking long naps, and of course watching his Denver Broncos! He was a wonderful man who is going to be greatly missed. We love you Bapa.
