Richard Sennett Bond

Richard S. Bond, 91, of Littleton, CO passed away Nov. 20, 2015 following a brief illness.

Richard, one of George and Elizabeth Bond’s four children, was born May 31, 1924 in Oak Park, IL and is survived by his wife of 67 years Helen Bond; daughters Katherine (Jim) Fleenor, Margaret (Bob) Vosburgh, and Julia (Dwight) Such; grandchildren Maggie (Matt) Wight, Rick Fleenor, Julie (Rob) DeBakey, Cassie Vosburgh, Megan Vosburgh, and Will (Brandy) Such; great-granddaughter Ellie Burns; sister Elizabeth Trump and 15 nieces and nephews. 

In 1942, within a span of 10 days, Richard graduated from high school, turned 18 and enlisted in the U. S. Navy, becoming a Marine B-25 pilot, serving from 1942-1945.  Following his discharge from the Marines and at the recommendation of a fellow pilot he headed west to Colorado College in Colorado Springs where he met and ultimately married the love of his life, Helen Holmes.  Kind and gentle hearts, Richard and Helen have spent the last many years in retirement, enjoying their loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 27th, 2015, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, at Drinkwine Mortuary, with a funeral service to be scheduled at a later date.
