Rosemarie Houtsma

Rosemarie Houtsma grew up in the small town of Milligan, Nebraska. She married the love of her life, Elmer, in 1947 and together they raised a family in Littleton, Colorado. She died on May 19, 2015 at Clermont Park, a Christian Living Community, after an extended illness. Rosemarie graduated from the University of Nebraska and worked as a registered dietician at Children's Hospital, Cherrelyn Manor Nursing Home in Littleton, Bethesda Hospital in Denver, and finally at Clermont Park. She and Elmer were gifted parents who successfully raised eight devoted children. She was a parishioner of Saint Mary Church in Littleton since 1956 where she served as organist, Eucharistic minister, and faithful leader of the Monday evening Rosary service. Elmer preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by her eight children - Nora, Peter (Kate), Jan, Mark, Mary, John (Harriet), Juliana, and Stephen (Svetlana); thirteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. The family invites you to a Rosary (10:30 am), Mass and Memorial Reception (11:30 am) on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at St. Mary Church, 6853 S. Prince St., Littleton, CO, 80120.
