Welcome to the memorial page for

Todd Hunt Wiedemeier

June 2, 1964 ~ July 13, 2017 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Todd Hunt Wiedemeier, age 53, of Sedalia CO passed away on July 13th 2017 after a hard fought 16 day battle with sepsis and complications. He was the first born son of Daniel and Ruth Hunt Wiedemeier born June 2,1964 in Davenport, IA.

At age 13, Todd’s family moved to Colorado where his love of the mountains anchored him to the area and kindled his interest in geology. He lived to learn and said he knew he would be a scientist from the time he was 9 years old.

He credited his love for geology to a specific Church youth group camping trip where he felt God’s presence which piqued his insatiable curiosity in all things scientific.

Todd was faithful in his love for God, and had a great passion for living his life for the betterment of others. He was proud of the fact that he was the grandson of a pastor, and frequently shared memories of his teachings and the influence his grandfather had on him.

Todd attended Goddard Junior High in Littleton and was in the class of 1982 at Heritage High school. He continues to have lifelong friends from that close knit Littleton community.

He graduated from Colorado State University and received a Master’s Degree in geology at Wichita State University.  He then embarked on a prestigious career in environmental engineering, a pioneer in his field of bioremediation of water contamination. His innovative approach remains today as a standard reference for the industry.  He began as technical director at Parsons Engineering Science, Inc., and then his entrepreneurial aspirations led him to start his own company “T.H. Wiedemeier and Associates Inc.”. Todd published over 150 technical papers and training manuals and lectured abroad.  His book “Natural Attenuation of Fuels and Chlorinated Solvents in the Subsurface” was published in 1999 and it continues to be a primary source of reference in his field.

Todd was most at home with his close friends in the outdoors, camping, backpacking, fishing, riding his mountain bike, or hiking with his dogs. He loved to return most summers to the Wiedemeier Mississippi River fishing cabin for trips with his cousins. Anyone that knew him will tell you of his ability to fix or build literally anything. He was a high energy guy, always had a smile on his face, he loved to sing, talk about any and everything, never shied away from voicing his opinions, and he had a huge passion for life and the people in his world.

Todd was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar and violin, and he loved all things regarding music. He communicated through YouTube videos of his favorite artists frequently sending videos expressing his feelings or sharing his latest musical passion.

Todd loved family tremendously and one of his greatest regrets was not having his own children. He loved Denise's kids and looked forward to spending time with them and her grandkids. Todd was a mentor and supporter of young people in many aspects of his life.Todd had a kind and generous heart, and would go out of his way to help his friends, family, or anyone that needed help of any kind.

His unexpected passing leaves a void in the lives of those he leaves behind.

Left to honor his memory are his parents and stepmother Marcia Wiedemeier; his siblings  Bradford and sister in law Kristi, Janie Hill; nieces and nephew (Lacey Davis, Corey Davis, and Ashley Hill), Aunt Delores and Uncle Dennis Harken, and 3 cousins, and their children.

He leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, best friend and constant companion, Denise Crawford, his very best friend Zach Dickson, and many other friends and professional colleagues.

Todd’s spirit remains in the hearts of those privileged to know him.

A memorial service and celebration of Todd's life will be held on August 4th at Drinkwine Family Mortuary in Littleton, CO.  Specific details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Todd's memory to either the Denver Dumb Friends League at ddfl.org, or to hungryformusic.org
