Vivian Arlene (Sue) Peterson, 91, of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Sue was born in Massachusetts to Eric Alfred and Johanna Alina Danielson on October 4, 1926. She graduated high school in 1944 in Worcester and then went to Bethel Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sue married Les Larson in 1950 where they lived in St. Paul, Minnesota; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Topeka, Kansas; Florrisant, Missouri; Creve Coeur, Missouri; Arlington, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska and then in Colorado in 1972. Their marriage ended in 1984. In 1996, she married Wilbur (Bud) Peterson and they chose to remain in Colorado.
Sue worked many different jobs—at Garrett Corporation, Chesterfield School District, Covenant Church, and as a Travel Agent. Because she moved often, her jobs changed continuously; however, her favorite job was working in the Special Education Department in the public schools of Colorado. Her passions included playing the piano and ice skating.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her two brothers, Edward Danielson and Norman Danielson. Sue is survived by her husband, Bud Peterson; her daughters, Denise Hanna (Jack Hanna) and Barbara Lamana (John Lamana); her four grandchildren, Catherine Banks (Aaron Banks), Shelley Chesson, Lisa Chesson, Johnny Lamana (Hilary Lamana); and, two great grandchildren, Cierra Banks and Kayla Banks. She is also survived by Petersons: David (Marg), Tim (Michelle), Barbara, Mark, Kirsten, Kimberly and Kip. She was a true inspiration to those whose lives she was a part of, and will be deeply missed.
Sue Peterson’s funeral will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 12:30 at Drinkwine Mortuary, 999 West Littleton Blvd in Littleton, Colorado.
Her Committal will be held at 2:15 the same day at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
