It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sondra Colleen (Morris) Honey on March 4, 2024. Sondra greeted the world on July 13, 1991 in Englewood, Colorado, and was greatly loved by her family and friends. She had a terrific sense of humor and loved seeing comics perform and watching shows and movies that made her laugh.
Sondra was a one-of-a-kind friend who was fiercely loyal to those she cared about most. She loved attending Colorado Avalanche games or going to Avs watch parties. She enjoyed many outdoor activities, including hiking, camping and paddle boarding. Also, she prided herself on hosting unique theme parties and treating birthdays like national holidays.
She greatly loved her Grandmother Gerry (Honey) Patterson, so after Gerry passed, she decided to change her last name to Honey to honor her grandmother. Sondra and Gerry were kindred spirits who shared a healthy sense of humor and a deep love of travel.
Sondra was a doting pet owner for her guinea pigs, Kiwi and Guino, who received much love and attention—and many portrait sessions— from their adoptive parent.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, with an emphasis on accounting and finance. Sondra worked for various financial organizations in the Denver area, most recently as an investment analyst.
Sondra is survived by her parents, Tina and Gregory Morris, her sister and brother-in-law Karen and James Imes.
The family encourages donations to these organizations, which were important in Sondra’s life:
Services & Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Elders (SAGE), sageusa.org
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Colorado, namicolorado.org
A Celebration of Life will be held in June.
