Thomas Hope Obituary

Thomas Harlan Hope passed away suddenly early Saturday morning on March 23, 2024. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother to a large family of grateful relatives. He was the cornerstone, the guiding light and the voice of reason whenever someone was in need of support. With a calm demeanor and an ever thoughtful presence, Tom would come to the rescue with solutions already in mind and face any problems directly.

Tom was born April 9, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas and was raised by his parents Margaret Ellen Hope and Harlan Hickman Hope alongside his sister Janet. He married his partner of 57 years, Susan Virginia Hope, and lived a life full of love and unwavering support for all those that surrounded him. Together, with roots in Texas and Colorado, they raised two children, Jennifer and John David and have four grandchildren; Payton, Claudia, David and Danika. A caretaker at heart and more importantly through his actions, he was by Susan's side until she passed away in 2023.

Tom's life was dedicated to taking care of his entire family and ensuring the safety and well-being of all those that loved him. He was the most generous, thoughtful, intelligent and patient human being anyone could ever hope to be, and he will forever remain a role model and a figure of strength and support in our hearts and minds.

Respected amongst family, friends, peers, clients and anyone that knew Tom as an Actuarial Consultant, he operated consistently as a highly ethical and caring human being. His clients loved him like family and relied heavily on his personal advice. Tom was a problem solver by nature – logical, patient, a good strategist. He was a strong advocate for human rights and enjoyed life to the fullest with much success in his personal and business pursuits. He enjoyed a long, prosperous and happy life full of love alongside his wife and partner, Susan, for more than fifty years.

As we mourn the loss of a truly exceptional man who will be greatly missed, please let us celebrate his life and remember all of the cherished moments we had to spend together.
