Carl Matthew Young, Jr.

Carl Matthew Young Jr., 85, Littleton, Colorado, died Saturday January 12, 2019 at Julia Temple, Englewood, Colorado.

He was born August 20, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas, to Carl M Young Sr and Grace V. Young (Blubaugh). Carl graduated from St Joseph’s Military Academy In 1952, moved to Colorado and married Carol Ann Young in November 1952. Carl had two sisters, Jeanne MacMurray (Charleston, AK)(deceased), and Janet Walker (Parker, CO).

Survivors include his sister Janet Walker and Husband Wally, Parker, CO; three children; Sandi Young and husband, Larry Kraft, Saratoga, WY., Rick Young and wife, Cindy, Parker, CO; and Susan Yoshimura and husband, Wayne, Maui HI; four granddaughters, Lisa, Kama, Keara, and Brenda; twelve great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Cody, Natasha, Aliyah, Jayden, Aria, Kaylah, Ashlyn, Caroline, Tyler, Noah, and Sierra.

Carl wanted everyone to know that he truly loved every member of his and Carol’s family. He wanted to thank everyone immediate and distant who had always been there to help him and Carol. He wanted us to pass along that he will miss all of the family and friends. He said most of all he was sorry that he and Carol wouldn’t be here to see the grand children grow up. He knew they would also have wonderful families, and hoped that the beliefs he and Carol expressed continue through the family generations. He regretted that the last few years he has not been able to get around and see everyone. He loved being with family and friends, camping trips, fishing trips, and visiting with everyone.

Lastly, dad wanted us to let everyone know he enjoyed the time he served with the Sheriff’s Office at Arapahoe and Douglas County, and helping the community. To all dad’s friends and coworkers at Arapahoe County and everywhere else, we know dad truly appreciated your friendship. Dad had so many friends that he helped, or that helped him in some way, we cannot reach out to all of them to say thanks, but we know for a fact he appreciated all of you.

Dads wishes were that he didn’t want any kind of memorial service, and only wished for everyone to remember him and mom, and the good times.
