Dorothy Ellen Prather

Dorothy Ellen Prather, 87, of Littleton, CO joined the Lord April 29, 2017. Dorothy was born to Harry and Myrtle Thompson December 14, 1929 in Fairbury, NE. She was the youngest of 4 girls and attended Fairbury High School where she enjoyed Dance Club and being the drum majorette for the Fairbury High School Marching Band. She graduated in 1947, worked at the Bonham Theater and the jewelry store, and met and married the love of her life, Orley Prather, also of Fairbury. 
 

The couple traveled for Orley's business and Dorothy reared the other loves of her life; her children John, Jack and Jane while on the road. She was a wonderful mother, a dear and loving wife and, according to her grandchildren, a warm, sweet and caring grandmother with a great sense of humor. She is remembered by neighbors and family as kind, generous and always thinking of others. 
 

Dorothy loved traveling with her husband, friends and family and later loved taking her grandchildren on many fun, adventurous and memorable trips. She spent 51 happy years with Orley before he was called home to the Lord August 13, 2000. Her love for him never once wavered and she never remarried. She loved gospel and country music and enjoyed outsmarting contestants on her favorite game shows. She was tickled to welcome great-grandaughter's Lauren (22), Faith (12), Krystal (3) and Lilly Emma (6 months) to the family. 
 

She is survived by daughter Jane (Gary) Cupp of Brighton, granddaughter Stacie (Glen) Gammel of Fairbury, NE, great-granddaughter Lauren Cupp of Claremont, CA, grandson Matthew (Kristin) and great-granddaughters Faith, Krystal and Lilly Cupp of Brighton, CO.
