Gary Boudreaux was born on September 14th, 1944, in the small town of Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Herman and Clara (nee Bivins) Boudreaux and the fourth of five boys, including Don, Duane, Charlie and Claude. He spent his childhood helping his parents run their laundromat and Dairy King. In high school, Gary was captain of the football team and named a State of Oklahoma all-star his junior and senior year. He attended University of Tennessee medical units and graduated in March 1969 with a DDS, then enlisted in the Navy.
At basic training in San Diego, Gary met his future wife, Lori Sinopoli, a teacher. They married and after moving back to Denver, he became a respected, lauded and loved member of Lori's large Irish-Italian family. Gary and Lori had two children, Michael and Megan. He opened his dental practice in 1971, and upon retirement in 2011, provided free dentistry as part of a Colorado Mission of Mercy as well as during a volunteer trip to Guatemala. In retirement, Gary could often be found playing with his grandchildren, Sophia, Scarlett and Josephine. He loved riding his bike, feeling free on his motorcycle, meeting his coffee crew at Starbucks, hosting an annual family Christmas Eve party and experiencing the world with Lori as they traveled to Hawaii, Mexico, Amsterdam, Thailand, Turkey, Italy, France, Ireland, Bulgaria and many other places. Gary was particularly close to his brother, Charlie and sister-in-law, Cindy, of Houston.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1998. While the last five years of his sickness became increasingly difficult, he remained his humble, giving, playful and accepting self, maintaining a consistently positive attitude, rarely complaining and always grateful for his blessings. Gary lost his battle to cancer on December 7th, 2019, at age 75. He died surrounded by his family and so much love.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 12, 2019, 11:00 AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Parish. Military Honors and Interment will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
