Born December 11, 1936 oldest son of Douglas Maloy Lewis and Nell Dee Raymond. Married one month short of 55 years to Marcelline M McSweeney; brother of David R Lewis (Roberta) of Cincinnati. Father of six children: Mary Catherine Gibb (Gary) of Bellingham, WA; Raymond Douglas Lewis of Englewood; Andrew Owen and Matthew David Lewis of Winter Park; late daughter of Ellen Laura McGrath (John) of Highlands Ranch and Ann Margaret Lewis of Littleton. Seven grandchildren Sarah and William James of Bellingham, Jack, Grace and William Henry of Littleton, Katie and Ryan of Highlands Ranch. Jim’s career spanned decades in the aerospace field as an engineer, graduating from Tennessee Technical University and advanced graduate studies at University of Alabama and Colorado, retiring early from Martin Marietta. His love of the outdoors and family and road trips brought him to many fishing and camping trips from coast to coast, Alaska; Canada; and Mexico.
He was most happy being with family and friends discussing his favorite sport hockey and his great adventures. Mr Fix It to all who needed a helping hand and surrogate father to those who needed a listening ear. Never met a stranger and had kind words for most. A straight shooter, but always taking the high road, giving people the benefit of the doubt. Proud of family, friends and his county. He will be greatly missed by many.
Memorial Mass to be held 11:00 a.m. Monday April 16, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church; reception to immediately follow at the church. Burial at Littleton Cemetery at 2PM.
