Janet Louise (Venrick) Wagner

Janet Louise Wagner, 82, of Denver, Colorado and Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away on September 16, 2018 from complications following emergency heart surgery.  Jan was born in Denver, Colorado on January 19, 1936. She graduated from West High School and continued on to receive a degree from Barnes Business College. Jan was married to Ronald A. Wagner on September 5, 1954 and remained married to him for the next 38 years, until his passing in 1992. Jan worked as a secretary for a local mortgage company, and later as a secretary for Whiteman Elementary School in Denver.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, going to museums, using her computer, and being involved in local activities and events.   Over the years, Jan was involved in Camp Fire Girls, various parent / teacher organizations, and the Needs Council. She was actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Fredericksburg.

Jan will be remembered for her love of people and of animals. She was known for being a very proud mother and grandmother, and for being a fun-loving, kind, sweet, faithful, and supportive individual.  She was a very special lady. Jan is survived by her two children, Joy Goin (Curt) and Brett Wagner (Michelle), her grandchildren, Julia and Lucas Wagner, many loving cousins, other family, friends, and her cat, Mocha.  Jan Wagner is preceded in death by her father, Guy Venrick, her mother, Nellie Venrick, and her husband, Ronald Wagner.

At her request, a graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 22nd at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, located at 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial (Littleton) Colorado, 80121.   Pastor Scott Nauman will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the funeral. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Drinkwine Family Mortuary.
