Jeanette S. Gilbert was born Jeanette Lois Stayner on October 29, 1920 in Edgar Nebraska to Cyrus and Vesta Stayner. She was the middle child of five girls. The family lived on the farm in Nebraska until Cyrus passed away, when they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.
She worked as a secretary for many years at Mountain Bell Telephone and Telegraph company where she met her husband Hank Gilbert. She was devoted to her family and was an avid animal lover. She could often be found sitting around the table with her mother and sisters having coffee and "chatting" as she used to say.
Jeanette is survived by a son, Michael Wilson and a daughter, Sandy Stewart, as well as four grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette passed away on November 30, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 99 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her four sisters. She is now free from disease and with her family again.
