Judith “Judy” S. Wolfe, 77, was born on December 25, 1941 in Fort Monroe, VA to Frank & Marianne Sperl, their second daughter. As an “Army brat”, Judy lived many places, including Germany, where she graduated from high school. When they moved back to the United States, she attended the University of Colorado. After meeting her soon-to-be husband, James “Jim” P. Wolfe, they both transferred to Colorado State University where she graduated with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Physics. While raising her children, she worked as an accountant, and later received a Masters degree in Theology and worked in the Catholic Church. Jim and Judy were very active in Marriage Encounter for many years. She was married to Jim for almost 55 years until he passed away last June. Judy died on May 14, 2019 at home in Littleton, CO, surrounded by her family.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Marilyn Carlisle and Frances Sperl. She is survived by her three children, Andrew Wolfe, Ann (Greg) Johnston, Laura (Mark) Burford, and 11 grandchildren. Judy loved to travel, ski, garden, learn, play Scrabble, but most of all to be with her family. Her favorite place was the family cabin fishing for trout, hiking, or just being with the family around the fire.
Visitation will be held at 6PM with Recitation of Rosary 7-8PM on Thursday, May 23rd at Drinkwine Family Chapel. Funeral Mass at 10:30AM on Friday, May 24th at St. Mary Catholic Church, Littleton. A reception will follow the mass.
In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to one of Judy’s favorite charities, the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary (DCJM) at http://www.dcjm.org/en/ because of their love and focus on helping the family. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
