Kathryn Peterson Obituary

On Thursday October 4th at 1:55 PM Kathryn A. Schillereff Peterson, loving wife, mother grandma and best friend to so many died of pneumonia complications.

Kathryn was born June 16, 1937 in Casper, Wyoming to Harry and Dorthy Schillereff. Her father's employment kept the family traveling throughout her childhood. While living in Napa, California their family grew when her brother Kriss Schillereff was born. After attending over 12 schools in her lifetime, she graduated from Longmont High School. After High School she left for New York and attended Wagner College in Statton Island.

While working a part time job at United Airlines it lead her to a new and exciting career as a Stewardess for United airlines. It is there she developed her lifelong love for traveling. While training in Cheyenne, Wyoming she met the love of her life Richard G. Peterson in the Wigwam room at the Plains Hotel. Their relationship grew and they were married in Chicopee, Massachusetts on May 1, 1959 and again in a formal ceremony on July 4, 1959 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. After returning to Chicopee, Massachusetts at Westover Air Force Base they started their family with Sheryll Anne Peterson White. In 1963 Kathryn and Richard moved to Littleton, Colorado when Richard accepted a job with Martin Marietta.  Their second child, Cynthia Lynn Peterson Snow was born shortly after arriving.

Kathryn lived in Littleton until her death. She was vivacious, charismatic, loved music and lived larger than life. She was heavily involved in the local theater community performing, directing and creating. Her talents started when she taught charm classes at Aurora Public Schools, traveling theater with the Jewish Community theater, PTA performances in  Littleton public schools, melodramas for Clipped Wings, Friends of the Library and Museum's FIASCO, Town hall, Mainstreet Players, Encore Players and numerous Aurora, Arvada and Denver theater productions. She adored her theater community friends and partners. She always had time to put together plays and skits with her grandchildren that were performed outside and in living rooms at any given time.

Kathy worked for the Department of Social Services as an intake worker and ending as a paralegal for various Attorneys with in the department. Her passions were deep in her community and much admired by friends and family. Whatever she was involved in she gave it her all. She hired the best of the best and helped everyone reach their fullest potential.

Kathryn is preceded by her husband Richard Peterson. She is survived by her daughter Sheryll White (Marc) and Cynthia Snow (Billy). She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Brittany Wall, Cameron White (Lindsey), Tyler White and Isabella Snow.

In true Kathy Peterson form her Final Curtain was closed and we will strike the set on our beloved Kathryn Peterson.

"God is with you in all that you do."
