Lucille Darcy Truax, 93, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away in the early morning hours of September 17, 2018. Darcy, the name she preferred, was born and grew up in Bonesteel, South Dakota. She loved reading and had an unquenchable hunger for knowledge. After graduating valedictorian of her class, she was awarded a scholarship to obtain a teaching degree. When she completed and received her degree, she returned to Bonesteel as an educator.
On December 7, 1946, she married Robert W. Truax in Tyndall, South Dakota, and they settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they began a family together and she began her career at Honeywell.
She was a beautiful wife, a loving mother, an exceptional scholar, a fierce businesswoman, and a philanthropist who possessed a strong sense of humanity and service to others less fortunate in this world and touched many people’s lives. Her energy force was always positive and her determination was unstoppable. She truly was a warrior and a poet.
In 1972, she moved her family to Littleton, Colorado, when she was promoted to Director of Personnel of Honeywell’s Test Instruments Division. She loved the mountains and the solitude she found in her home there. She loved animals of all kinds and especially had an affection for birdwatching. In the end, she loved her dog, Dude, most of all.
She is preceded by her parents, Michael Joseph D’Arcy and Jane (Jennie) Bulger, and her siblings, Gladys Mary D’Arcy, William Alfred (Al) D’Arcy, Mary Catherine D’Arcy, Thomas Patrick D’Arcy and John (Mike) Edward D’Arcy
She is survived by her children, Diane L. Truax, Roberta J. Truax-Sykes, Michele M. Truax, Michael R. Truax, and Denise M. Truax; her grandchildren, Diarmuid Truax, Terrence Rock, Darcy Velasquez, Christopher Bawiec, Michael Bawiec, Edward A. Szuch, Andrew Szuch, and her great-grandchildren.
She will be forever loved and deeply missed.
