Michael is survived by his wife, Christine Leigh, and their two sons, Aiden Michael and Devin Murphy. He leaves behind his father, Jerome Albert and wife Mollie Louise (Snyder); brothers, Daniel Byrne and Patrick Thomas with son Sean Patrick and daughter Claire Elizabeth; sister, Jill Marie & husband John William with sons Gregory Byrne and Matthew William and daughter Kay Marie. Michael was predeceased by his mother Kay Marie (Byrne); his mother-in-law Sharon May (DeMarco); and sister-in-law Laura Riley (Bratton) Forner.

Michael grew up in Centerville, Ohio and studied at Wright State University.  He then moved to California where he attended San Jose University and studied opera.  He had a beautiful bass voice and performed at Opera San Jose.  Michael was a member of the Jaycee’s and at a meeting met Christine.  They married on June 10, 2000 and began their life together in San Jose.  Michael had never been to Disneyland and they went for the first time over the Christmas/New Year holiday in 2000.  He was hooked and returned annually.  Aiden arrived in 2003 and the family moved to Denver where Devin arrived in 2006.  The family was completed and called themselves the Forner Four.

Michael worked for the Denver Regional Transportation District.  He loved it and was in his happy place surrounded by trains, gadgets and technology.

Michael went to his first Cub Scout meeting in 2009 with Aiden at Pack 92, and so his Scouting career began.  He held many positions including:  Pack Den Leader, Trainer, Cub Master, Day Camp Director, Woodbadge, Philmont, and so many more.  Joining the Catholic Committee on Scouting was a great fit for him, balancing his faith and scouting.  Michael was so proud of Aiden and Devin and talked at length about his future Eagle Scouts.

Mike joined the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary’s Catholic parish.  You could always find him in the tent making burgers, brats and dipping fish at the fish fry’s.

Michael's lifelong interests were music, photography, graphic arts, computers, technology and tech gadgets, and a huge love of Disneyland.

He was a wonderful father and devoted husband and will be greatly missed.
