Michael Struewing was born to William and Mary. He was the sixth and final child to be born of the loving couple (Kathy (Tom) Holcombe, Fran (Mike) DeWine, Ken (Betheen) Struewing, John (Kathy ) Struewing, Cindy (Chris) Mucher. Mike, like his father before him, became a builder and he loved to create and tinker. And when the pull of his youth caused him to uproot from his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio, he found himself in Colorado. There he met and married Sarah (Sallie) Nagle, and their great romance ensued. The love they shared endured through the years, and happily had three children: James (Sarah), Jessica (Grant)Struewing-Grigorian, and Katherine (Joe) Deshler. Mike filled the family role well; coming from a big family and marrying into a big family, he bore the roles of uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law well (Laurie ( Larry) Evans, Gene (Debbie) Nagle, Lee, Ned (Peggy) Nagle, Eric Nagle, Chris (Brian) Popke. But, a most beloved role of all came in 2009 when his first grandson, Hunter was born. Five other grandchildren followed: Hugo, Charlie, Elan, Violet and Connor. Mike relished and delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, and his grandchildren him. Mike passed away peacefully at the age of 63, with his wife, three children, siblings, and other family members surrounding him. He is preceded into heaven by his father William. Mike will make his last journey home to Yellow Springs to be laid to rest next to his father.
