Norman Duane Schillo passed away at the Vi at Highlands Ranch, CO on May 16, 2019. He was born on September 10, 1927 in Denver, CO, the second son of Albert and Myrtle Schillo. His older brother Albert Jr. (Ed) died in 1988 and his younger sister Norma Jane lives in Washington State. Norm grew up in North Denver and married Louanna Green on August 27, 1950. They had three daughters – Debbie (Dan) O’Neill, Dixie (Art) Hansen and Arlene “Beanie” Schillo, 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Louanna passed away in 1993 and Arlene passed in 2014. Norm was later married to Anne Benshoof on June 26, 1997 and shared in the lives of her 4 sons, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Anne passed in 2015.

Norm enlisted in the U.S. Navy on the day he graduated from North H.S. and served from 1945 to 1946. He worked as a bricklayer, contractor, home builder and real estate agent. His interests included travel, golf, biking and tennis. He was active in the Arapahoe Sertoma Club and in the Englewood Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). Through his membership in the Jaycees he established many life-long friends. After these friends completed their Jaycee careers, they continued their camaraderie by forming a club they affectionately called the Exhausted Roosters. Norm and his Rooster buddies continued to meet on the first Monday of every month for over 50 years.
