Phyllis M. Payne

Phyllis Marjorie Payne, 77, of Littleton, Colorado passed away on November 16, 2016. 

She was born in Memphis, NY on October 19th, 1939. Daughter of the late Sterling Pierce and Wilma Crouse. There were five children born to Sterling and Wilma: George (stillborn), Guy ( 1934-1979), Lee (1935-), Phyllis (1939-2016), and Edna (1941-).

Phyllis loved to play the piano and had a dream to become a nurse.

Phyllis married Donald Whitaker Payne, son of Harold and Ruth Payne on May 10th, 1958. The wedding was held at Phyllis’ home. It was a beautiful spring day for the happy occasion. There was a gathering of friends and relatives. Phyllis and Don have two children, Renelle (1963-) and Shawn (1965-) Phyllis gave all her care and kindness to her Husband and children. She enjoyed sewing and making puppets.

Phyllis’ husband passed away after a sudden heart attack. Phyllis raised her two children on her own. She never re-married because Donald was the love of her life.

On 9-28-16 Phyllis accepted Jesus into her heart.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11AM, Drinkwine Family Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1PM, Staging Area A.
