Roger M, Peterson “Rog” age 69 is and always will be a part of Littleton, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019. He was a graduate from Arapahoe high school in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy during the fights in Vietnam on the USS Cochrane DDG 21. He was a civil engineer for the city of Littleton up until his retirement of April, 2018. Everyone knew him as the “map guy”. Roger had many talents being that if anybody needed anything fixed he would try his hardest to help them and if he couldn’t do it he would help you find someone who could and could do it right. His favorite hobby was being a part of The Colorado Vintage Baseball Association. He picked the handle of “Swede” and if you had the pleasure of getting to see this man play ball, you would see how much he loved this game and everything about it.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, teacher, and friend anyone could have. By his side is Vicki Lynne Peterson, who has been by his side through all the amazing, and hardest times in his life. Daphnie H. Peterson (daughter) and Matthew B. Peterson (son) loved their dad and where by his side to the very end. Amy H. Peterson (daughter) was in the room with him to hold his hand and guide him to his chair where he will be watching over all of us as we continue his legacy.
The funeral service will be held at Drinkwine family mortuary located at 999 W Littleton Blvd. Littleton, CO 80120, Saturday, June 15th at 4pm. His burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery located at 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236, Monday, June 24 at 2pm with full military honors. We as a family thank everyone for their condolences and kindest sympathies.
