Rose Anita Reales

Rose A. Reales was born March 31st, 1932 and passed away May 13th, 2018 (Mother's Day) at the young age of 86. She was the last of 12 brothers and sisters (Rose was the 8th). She was survived by her loving husband Tony and one son Tony, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded by her son Jim; sisters and brothers (oldest to youngest) Maxine, Frank, Ed, John, Mary, James, Theresa, Thomas, Paul, Patty and Jerry.

I met Rose in 1959 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. It was love at first sight! I saw her once going to a friends house, then 2 weeks later I saw her again and asked her if she would like to have a cup of coffee. She agreed. We sat and talked for hours, and after the 1st hour I knew she was the one I was looking for she had the best personality, big blue eyes, great hand shake and hand grip.

Our interests were the same - love of the outdoors, similar lifestyles, work ethic and our feelings toward other people. We agreed to date and 6 months later we were married in Springer, New Mexico. We enjoyed every day of our lives. We did everything together.

She loved all people and she never said anything bad or condemned anyone. She was the truest wife, mother and friend. She loved everyone and she always felt sorry for older people and young children.

Now 58 years later, as she was leaving, she asked me to tell everyone how much she loved them and said goodbye.

Her big blues started closing, her smile slowly fading away, and her hand grip started letting up...all gone forever. At 4:10 p.m. on Mother's Day she went to heaven to be with our son and wait for us.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held Thursday, May 24th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Memorial Mass to follow at at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow at the church.
