Viviana Preloran Frigerio

Littleton, CO.

Born in Argentina, Viviana ventured to New York City when she was eighteen years old. It is there that she met and married Ignazio Frigerio, and in 1958 they took their first vacation to Mount Desert and feel in love with it’s beauty. From that moment on Viviana was determined to spend her life in Maine. It took a while, but in 1982 Viviana & Ignazio purchased a little shack on Indian Point Road in Pretty Marsh. They would spend every possible free moment there, until finally in 1991 they built their dream home and moved to Maine for good.

Before moving to Maine, Viviana had an interesting career as Secretary to the President of CBS International, as well as with an antique appraiser and a clock company.  When she moved to Maine, she was a regular Volunteer at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth where she was named Volunteer of the year in 2005.

Viviana was an incredibly talented craftsperson. She had the ability to turn fabric into works of art. From her quilts lovingly stitched, to her clothespin dolls, clever greeting cards and stuffed dolls imbued with personality, everything Viviana put her hand to was made with love, care and beauty.

Viviana spent some of the happiest years of her life in Maine, surrounded by deep friendships and natural beauty. Gazing out her kitchen window looking at the wildlife romping in the marsh, and hearing the call of the loon gave her great joy.

Viviana and Ignazio moved to Littleton, Colorado to be closer to family. They enjoyed the more temperate climate and sunshine that  Colorado had to offer.  Viviana spent the last years of her life in the loving care of  Life Care Center of Littleton, where she made new friends and was much loved by staff and residents.

Viviana is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Ignazio, who now resides in Littleton, CO., her son Pierpaolo and Sandie Low Frigerio of Marietta GA, daughter Luciana Frigerio of Norwich, VT, and son Jacopo and Jenifer Frigerio of Littleton, CO, as well has her four grandchildren Samantha Frigerio, Juliana Frigerio, Galen Richardson and Olivia Richardson.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Chapel at St. Mary Catholic Church, Littleton, Colorado
