William Allen Choate, 88 of Centennial, Colorado passed away peacefully on June 1, 2018 at Highline Place Memory Care. William was born the second of two children on March 27, 1930 in Trinidad, Colorado to Chap and Stella Choate. He is preceded in death by his older brother, Lee of La Habra, California.
William attended South Denver High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart Libby Ann. They were married in 1954 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage before her passing.
William had been a long time employee of the Denver Water Board when he retired in 1990 after 35 years of service. There, he worked his way up through the ranks of vehicle maintenance to Maintenance Supervisor, a position that he had held since 1976.
Upon retirement, William and Libby enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. As a racing enthusiast, William looked forward to his twice monthly breakfasts with his racing buddies. William was also a long time member of the Pythagoras Lodge #41 of Colorado.
William is survived by his daughter, Connie and her husband, David Tomasula of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandson, Kyle; his four nephews – David (Donna) Drees, Mike (Bea) Drees, Doug (Jeanette) Drees, and Ron Drees; his sister-in-law, Heidi; along with many other family and friends.
William was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service for William is planned for July 11, 2018 at 2:15 PM at Highline Place Memory Care, 6767 S. Broadway, Littleton CO 80122.
