WILLIAM E. STOREY, 96
William Edward Storey, 96, died peacefully with his family at his side April 20, 2018, at the Colorado
State Veteran's Home in Aurora, Colorado.
Services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00am, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 1401 East
Dry Creek Road, Centennial, Colorado.
Mr. Storey was born January 11, 1922, in Ashby, Nebraska. He graduated from East High School,
Colorado College and Denver _University.
He was a Veteran who served with honor in the United States Army during World War 11, 1943-1946.
He was a teacher in the Denver Public School system until 1959. He then became a self-employed
builder and land developer for over 50 years building many houses, apartments, condominiums and
commercial buildings in the Denver Metropolitan area.
His passion was sports. He excelled in football and wrestling. He coached football at Colorado College,
and started a youth sports team in the Young American League organization. He was an avid Denver
Broncos fan with season tickets dating back to their very first season in 1960. Mr. Storey was inducted
into the East High School Sports Hall of Fame for wrestling.
He was married to his wife, Dorothy, for 60 years until her death in 2006. Mr. Storey is survived by a son,
Scott Storey, a daughter, Diane Storey, a daughter, Shawn Storey, 2 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren.
William E. Storey was a tough, compassionate man who will be missed by many.

Aurora, Colorado 80045. All donations in the name of William Edward Storey will be used to support the
needs of Veterans.
