Welcome to the memorial page for

Zula Elizabeth Hunt

October 19, 1925 ~ August 15, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Zula Hunt was born on October 19th 1925 in Alamosa, Colorado and graduated from Alamosa High School in 1943.  She moved to Denver in the same year to attend beauty school.  In 1943 Zula met the love of her life Raymond J Hunt at a military dance.  They were married December 29th 1944.  They shared a deep love and devotion for 28 years until his death in 1973. Zula and Ray had three children and built the family house in Littleton where she lived for 66 years.
She worked for 43 years at Arapahoe County Motor Vehicle Department. She was devoted to her work and continued to stay in touch with her office family long after her retirement in 1999.

Zula was very creative and talented. She learned to play the piano as a young girl, but playing the drums was her true passion.  She also enjoyed oil painting and writing. She had a flare for poetry, rhymes and funny short stories. She was also known for her funny quips.

Zula loved Country and Big Band music. Watching vintage movies like “Gone With The Wind” was one of her favorite past times.

One of her life long joys was spending time with family and friends at the family cabin in Creede, Colorado.

Zula was preceded in death by her husband Ray.  She will be lovingly remembered by her three children and their spouses Susan (Don) Eloe, Linda (Delton) Johnson and James (Kirsten) Hunt. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jon) Martin, Brian (Laura) Eloe, Stephanie (John) Garrett, Candace and Lisa Hunt. She has seven great grandchildren, Sawyer and Peyton Eloe, Sofia and Sydney Garrett, Liam and Lani Carter, and Kaison Niles.

Zula loved life and counted each day as a blessing.  Her belief in life was to “kill everyone with kindness”.  Her gentle strength and loving nature will be remembered by everyone she knew.
She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your charity of choice in Zula's memory.
