It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Angelita Santos Reyes, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, adopted mother and a faithful servant of God.
Angelita, also fondly known as Nene/Nanay/Nana, peacefully departed from us on August 4th, leaving behind a legacy of faithfulness to God, and extraordinary love, generosity and kindness.
Born in the Philippines on July 30th, 1937, Angelita dedicated her life as a homemaker nurturing and caring for her family with unparalleled devotion. As a mother and grandmother, she created a home filled with warmth, wisdom, unwavering support and most importantly her faith in God. Her love knew no boundaries, and her influence will forever resonate in the lives of those she cherished, especially her four children and their spouses, and five grandchildren.
Angelita was not only the family’s matriarch, but also a pillar of strength and affection for her extended family. Her faith and devotion was a great witness to all of us. Her empathy and generosity went above and beyond, touching everyone she met, making her a part of their lives. Wherever she was, she made it a home and a haven of comfort and joy, and her presence and unconditional love always brought light and laughter.
Among her many gifts, Nanay/Nana was renowned for being the best cook. She believed the best way to anyone’s heart is through their stomachs. Her culinary talents transformed every meal into a celebration, and her dishes became cherished traditions in our family. The love she poured into her cooking was matched only by the unconditional love she showed in all aspects of her life.
Angelita is survived by her children - Mina (Kebere), Angie (Josette), Ana (Arnie) and Abbie (Iyah); her grandchildren - Abigail, Kayla, AJ, Ariana and Aidan; her brother, Jose (Lot); her brother in-law, Danny (Lolet) and sisters-in-law, Baby, Beth and Elvira, as well as a host of adopted and extended family and friends who were privileged to know her.
A celebration of Angelita’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 12:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2298 S Logan St., Denver, Colorado.
Angelita will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the joy she brought into the world. May her memory be a blessing and her legacy of kindness and devotion to her faith continue to inspire us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmaus Catholic Hospice, https://emmauscatholichospice.org/, reflecting Angelita’s generous spirit.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
