Tony, 74, passed away surrounded by friends and family in his daughter and son-in-law's home Sunday August 6th. Cancer took him from this earth, to his new home to dwell with his heavenly father in peace and joy for eternity. His passing was blessedly peaceful. He is Survived by his wife Sarah Stejskal, daughter Barbora Meese, son Marek Stejskal, He also had an older sister, Jirina as well as a younger brother, Jarek, both reside in the Czech Republic. He also had 2 grand daughters.
Tony was born to a farmer/ violin maker and homemaker in the village of Chvalovice, Czechoslovakia June 18th, 1949. He came to the US in 1983 for a better life for his family. He moved from Denver, CO to eastern IA in 1987 to become a farmer, gardener and feed mill operator. He attended Vineyard and Nazarene Churches in Monticello and met many wonderful people and lifelong friends. The Rocky Mountains eventually called him back to the area in 2000. He met his wife Sarah in 2005 and together they explored their love of the outdoors by hiking, climbing 14ers and camping, and later marrying on Lake Dillon in 2006. They attended teachings at Beth Messiah Church. Tony’s passions were gardening and studying the Bible. He had a knack for fixing anything with his hands and creativity. You could follow the sound of cheerful whistling to find Tony working away at his next creative idea, transforming the space on the Wild Horse Mesa property into their little slice of paradise. He had many friends on the Mesa and was always willing to help anyone in the community who needed it. Tony had a true servant's heart. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, and we will send details on how those who knew him can pay their respects.
