Barbara Brann, affectionately known as Barb, passed away on September 15, 2023, at age 85. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Stuart (Stu) Brann; her sons Bill Brierly, Ed Hiatt, and Mark, Keith, and Doug Brann; her nine grandchildren; and many friends.
Barb was born July 28, 1938, in Denver, Colorado, to Keppel and Ruth Brierly. She graduated from East High School in 1956 and attended Colorado College, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She was a dedicated employee and held many different jobs in her lifetime, including realtor, office manager, and human resources manager. She was always an active community member, serving as HOA President of the Pointe, and was a revered volunteer at Swedish Medical Center, the Littleton Museum, and Bemis Public Library.
A proud Coloradan, Barb spent many years with Stu at their beloved home in Littleton. Barb also found solace in the natural beauty of the mountains at her cabin in Sphinx Park, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a collector of Western and Indigenous art, an avid reader, and a world traveler who had a special appreciation for the picturesque landscape and culture of Ireland. Barb lived a full, vivacious life and will be greatly missed by those who paid witness to her quick wit, tenacity, and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of the Littleton Library and Museum.
A celebration of Barb’s life, open to friends and family, will be held on December 17, 2023 at the Littleton Museum from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
