Barbara N. Hester "Barbie", 71 of Englewood, Colorado.
Survived by Robert Hester her husband; her brother Pete Black, her sister-in-law Sally Black; in-laws Don and Lonnie Hester, and Ed and Diana Hester; and her niece and nephews Mike, Chris and Matt Black, Edward, Grant, Chad and Renee Hester.
Born in Philadelphia to Florence Alice Black and Charles Black. She lived in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania until she was 7 years old. While living in Pennsylvania the Black family enjoyed annual summer vacations at the "shore" (Rehoboth Beach, Delaware).
In 1954 Barbie's dad got transferred and the family moved to Mission, Kansas. Barbie attended Hickory Grove Grade School and Old Mission Junior High School. Barbie was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts as she was growing up.
In 1960 Barbie's dad accepted a job with Martin-Marietta and the family moved to Littleton, Colorado. Barbie attended Euclid Junior High School and graduated from Littleton High School.
After graduating from Littleton High School, she attended Saint Luke's Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and went on to work in the Presbyterian Saint Luke's Hospital system for 28 years, primarily in Radiology Management. In 1995 she accepted a job with Saint Joseph Hospital as the Radiology Director. Barbie retired from healthcare in 2008.
Barbie enjoyed taking pictures, particularly sunflowers and butterflies. Barbie enjoyed riding with her husband on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, she has logged over 80,000 miles on the back of the motorcycle. Barbie loved books (especially good murder mysteries), she also loved to cook.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at Drinkwine Family Chapel.
