Bettye L. Rathbun

Bettye Leigh Rathbun (Miller) passed peacefully in her home on February 26, 2018, at the age of 91, with her family by her side. Bettye was born to Henry and Irene Miller in Ellsworth, KS on June 29, 1926. She was the youngest of five children, three sisters and one brother.

She married Bobby Dale Rathbun at age 17 on August 8, 1943. A year later a son, Timothy was born, followed by daughters Deanna and Robin. They farmed in Ellsworth County for 14 years, moving to Denver, CO in 1957.

Bettye was a loan processor for many years, but her greatest joy was being a homemaker. She never missed a holiday or a birthday for anyone. One of the things she enjoyed most was cooking, always preparing a feast and was an amazing cook. Her favorite interests were sewing, crocheting, playing slots and poker. Usually every weekend we would get together having a card party and playing pinochle.

Bettye is survived by daughters Deanna Rathbun and Robin Miller. Grandchildren Deanna Hinkley, Rhonda Tonkinson, and Darren Nickerson. Great grandchildren Kayla Nickerson, Savannah Hinkley, Alexis Radcliff, Keith Nickerson, Ciara Hinkley, and Diana Nickerson. Great great grandchildren Ashton, Lilly, Valen, and soon to be Lianna. She is preceded by her parents and siblings as well as her son Tim, her granddaughters Tami and Misty, and grandson Bobby Dale II.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 6th at 1PM, Drinkwine Family Mortuary.  Services conclude at the Chapel.
