Beverly Jean Girard

Beverly Jean (Smith) Girard of Lakewood was born March 26, 1933 in Ft. Collins, Colorado and passed away on November 12, 2022 reaching 89 years of age. 

Preceded in death by her parents Lydia and Floyd Smith and her brother Stanley Smith. 

Survived by her husband of 67 years Howard Girard and sons; James, William and Gary Girard; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Edgewater High School in 1951. 

After graduation she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Metropolitan State College and her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

After retiring from the United States Bureau of Land Management she worked as a college professor at Metropolitan State College in the Accounting Department. 

Beverly loved to challenge herself mentally and physically. She completed two Ride the Rockies in her 60’s. She had a love of the outdoors in which she enjoyed hiking, skiing (downhill and cross country), golfing, and swimming, running marathons and races, bowling, playing bridge and studying Spanish. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11AM at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. A reception will follow the service at Drinkwine Reception Hall.

Interment will be on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 1:30PM at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area B.
