Beverly Lowrimore Obituary

Beverly Lowrimore (Bev), age 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 7th, in Littleton, CO.  She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John, daughter, Laura (husband Val), and three sons - Greg (wife Kim), Scott (wife Meg) and Mike; seven grandchildren (Amie, Steven, Valerie, Chris, Emily, Brian and Nick); her brother, Dee Hubbard; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Graydon and Frances Hubbard.
Bev was born on December 27, 1935 in Elwood, Indiana and grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri.
Bev was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and served as a Physical Therapist in the Army Medical Specialist Corps.  Bev married Charles (Chuck) Thoma and together they had thee boys. Chuck was killed in action on January 12, 1967 while serving with the US Army in Vietnam. Bev relocated to Denver, Colorado and while attending a Parents Without Partners event, she met John Lowrimore, also a widower. John and Bev's first date was a snowmobile trip in the mountains. John and Bev fell in love and decided to join their families together. They were married on August 8, 1970 and settled in Littleton to raise their family. They built a home along the High Line Canal, where the family still gathers.
John and Bev taught their children to ski and the family often spent time exploring and camping in the Colorado Rockies. Bev loved the Denver Broncos and also supported each of the college teams where her grandkids went to college.
Following a cancer diagnosis in 1983, Bev beat her cancer and went on to hike the Swiss Alps and the Rockies for another 30+ years. In the winter months, Bev could be found cross country skiing or snowshoeing. She loved wild flowers and bird watching. Bev and John loved to travel and enjoyed exploring National and State Parks all over the US. Even while facing increasing physical challenges, Bev continued to walk the High Line Canal and loved being outdoors.

Bev was a member of Littleton United Methodist Church and loved serving there and singing in the choir.
Despite her small size, Bev was an incredibly strong and determined woman. She enthusiastically embraced life with joy, remarkable grace, and determination.
Family and friends will gather together at Littleton United Methodist for a Celebration of Bev's life on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 @ 3:00 PM.
