Bonnie M. Hefestay (formerly known as Bonnie M. Gaskins), passed away on May 1, 2023. She was born in Proctor, MN and spent most of her life in Littleton, CO. Bonnie was a proud graduate of Hamlin University, worked as a social worker in Los Angeles out of college, and then had a career of being a quintessential homemaker. Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a great artist and loved to travel. She loved to read and was very smart. She was kind, generous, and was always more than thoughtful. She made everyone feel welcome in her home. She embraced, and dearly loved, the friends and family members brought into her life by her loved ones. She could hold an interesting conversation for hours and never met a stranger. Bonnie loved beautiful things and had impeccable taste, attributes that she shared with and bestowed upon many.
Bonnie was predeceased by her beloved husband, L.G. Gaskins, and her second husband and life companion, Frank J. Hefestay. Bonnie is survived by her loyal son and daughter, Mr. Lee T. Gaskins (Liz) and Mrs. Kelly A. Carlsen (Don), and her grateful granddaughter, Ms. Casey L. Williams (Taylor). The family will be holding a private interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bonnie’s name to the Salvation Army.
As Bonnie/Bon/Ma/Nana/ “Boots” would say with her charming Minnesota accent…oh, don’t you know, we will miss you kid, and so on and so forth.
