Carol Ann Cornett rejoined her beloved husband, Jessie, during the evening of September 21, 2024.
Carol was born Carol Ann Brady on February 24, 1938 to Phillip A. and Pauline (Polly) P. Brady of Allentown, PA. She was the second of three sisters. After spending several years
in Allentown, the family moved, in succession to Alabama, Florida, Texas and finally California, where she attended Canoga Park High School.
While still in high school, she was introduced by her sister, Nancy, and brother-in-law, Bobby Cornett, to Bobby’s younger brother Jessie, a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton, near San Diego. In relatively short order, they fell in love. On March 3, 1956, 1 week after Carol's 18th birthday, they were married and began what would be their 64 years together.
The following January, their son Jessie David (David) was born, and 13 months after that, their daughter Carol Suzanne (Suzanne) completed their family. Shortly before the end of 1959, Carol and Jessie decided to leave California to raise their family in Colorado. This is where they called home the rest of their lives.
Throughout her life, Carol was, predominantly, a stay-at-home mother. Famous for her stern look, smart aleck attitude, and huge heart. She always made welcome the various friends that Suzanne and David brought home and, later, those that her grandchildren, and even her great-grandchildren added to the group. Over the years she simply became “Granny” to everyone, even her beloved, Jessie.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jessie Cornett, her parents Phillip and Polly Brady, and her older sister Nancy Lee Brady. She is survived, and will be missed by, her younger sister Leeann, her son David, her daughter Suzanne and son-in-law Kodi, her former daughter-in-law Glenda, three grandsons, Jason, Adam, and Jacob, her granddaughter Erin and her husband Tim Howell, her four great-granddaughters, Peyton, Rylen, Addison, and Jessie, 24 nieces and nephews, and everyone who just knew her as “Granny”.
Rest in Peace Granny…
